Quincy Newspapers has standardized on the Volicon Observer media logging and monitoring system for its entire station group. By providing around-the-clock recording and monitoring of all off-air content, the Observer is instrumental in Quincy’s efforts to maintain quality of service and compliance across all of its stations.

To date, four-channel Volicon Observer systems with 13 months of storage have been implemented at eight Quincy stations, with the remaining five stations expected to come online at a later date. Now station personnel can access the Observer at any time and from any computer in the network via the system's Web browser interface. The archived content provides important validation that the stations are in compliance with FCC regulations such as closed-captioning as well as contracts with performance rights organizations such as BMI and ASCAP.
