Red Bee builds VOD for Swiss broadcaster

SRG SSR idée Suisse, Switzerland's national public broadcaster, has launched an on-demand film service designed and built by Red Bee Media. The service will be available through each of the broadcaster’s three Web sites — TSR, in French; SF, in German; and RTSI in Italian.
The initial films available through the service have been digitized and transcoded through Red Bee Media’s Digital Hive at its broadcast center in West London. All films will be protected by GeoIP technology to ensure that the films are only available in territories where the rights are held. Once a film has been downloaded, the user has 30 days to start watching it, and once the play button has been pressed, he or she has 48 hours to finish viewing the film.
