Screen Subtitling Systems has supplied captioning solutions to Television New Zealand (TVNZ) to support captioning across its SD and HD services on the digital terrestrial television (DTT) platform.

Television New Zealand has purchased from Screen a Polistream system comprising two P5000s, three P4000s and two A4002s. The Screen equipment transcodes teletext captions into DVB subtitles for the TV One and TV2 HD services. To fulfill TVNZ’s specific requirements, Screen has designed the system to output data directly over UDP rather than using the more traditional ASI stream.
