Mexico-based Televisa is using Gallery IEC’s SIENNA media infrastructure with Apple hardware and Final Cut Studio for its coverage of the Beijing Olympics.

For ingest from the pool, Televisa uses 22 channels of HD SIENNA PictureReady on Xserve hardware recording to 200TB of Promise Technology storage; editors use 50 SIENNA and Final Cut edit systems; and the broadcaster uses two SIENNA-based studios for playout.

The entire system is tied together with SIENNA OriginOne Web-based asset management and SIENNA MediaServices. The SIENNA and Apple infrastructure integrates tightly with the EVS systems used by the host broadcast system to exchange media and metadata seamlessly.
