Thomson launches latest version of Sapphire VOD server

Thomson recently launched version 4.7 of its Sapphire VOD server system.

Thomson has announced the launch of version 4.7 of its Sapphire Video on Demand (VOD) server system. The new release brings a number of additional features to improve viewing quality including jitter free streaming, IP packet loss recovery and variable bit stream support.

Sapphire Cluster Manager is now also available for managing groups of Sapphire VOD servers located either in points of presence or nodes. Sapphire Cluster Manager implements provisioning and load balancing, while optimizing content streaming depending on its popularity, thus extending network capacity and optimizing bandwidth use.
