TVB Hong Kong to launch interactive service with S&T MHEG-5 technology

TVB Hong Kong has ordered a complete end-to-end interactive TV solution from Strategy & Technology (S&T). The order is for S&T's TSBroadcaster and TSPlayer playout systems as well as S&T's MHEG Presenter publishing framework with supporting application development tools.
The system provides TVB with a fully redundant playout platform for MHEG-5 interactive applications that will be received on TVB Interactive-certified iDTVs and set-top boxes. At least 12 receiver manufacturers have integrated the MHEG-5 Hong Kong Profile in their receivers for this market, and conformance testing is being provided by Hong Kong Science and Technology Park.
