Vector 3 showcased the latest release of its VECTORBOX playout platform at IBC2008. The VECTORBOX 8000HD provides unique features and benefits for broadcasters and channel operators who need to mix SD and HD video.

This feature is made possible by the automatic upscaling and downscaling of SD and HD material. As a result, broadcasters can take advantage of their existing SD content while progressively introducing HD material to their programming. The ability to simultaneously drive two channels with a single playlist provides a cost-efficient path to launching HD versions of existing SD channels. Other VECTORBOX 8000HD features include built-in, template-based CGs for branding the channel with bugs, animations and real-time tickers, which can be dynamically updated by remote databases or RSS feeds.
