Grass Valley's Ignite automated production system links news and control rooms.

Australia's major regional network WIN Television has placed a multimillion-dollar order for seven Grass Valley Ignite HD Integrated Production Systems (IPS) from Thomson to streamline and integrate news production between the control room and the newsroom.

WIN Television has 24 news bureaus located throughout Australia, producing a total of 19 individual 30-minute bulletins of local news, weather, sports and finance updates through seven regional control rooms. WIN News uses seven regional control rooms to produce a total of 19 regional specific 30-minute news bulletins. With seven Ignite HD systems, WIN Television is prepared for when it makes the move to full HD in-house production from widescreen SD in fourth quarter, 2007.

WIN Television is also equipped with Grass Valley Digital News Production (DNP) solutions for ingest, editing, central storage, browse and playout in its newsrooms.
