Sundance Digital FastBreak NXT automation system

Using the Sundance Digital FastBreak NXT automation system, the station is managing its main over-the-air channel and a direct-to-cable channel with minimal human intervention.

WMTW-TV, the ABC affiliate in Portland, ME, is now managing its main over-the-air channel (Channel 8) and a direct-to-cable channel (Channel 9) with a new Sundance Digital FastBreak NXT automation system. The system also allows the stations to integrate SQL database management, along with frame-accurate control of two Leitch VR440 servers, tape transports, switchers, routers and other peripherals.

The system also enables WMTW engineering staff to customize the automation of events, commercials and programming in ways it never cold before.

The system is designed to manage information, control content and provide a complete television master control solution. It incorporates a distributed, fault-tolerant architecture and an integrated SQL database.
