Cache-A debuts archive appliances at IBC 2009

Cache-A lets you create “source masters” in acquisition workflows when using the new memory card or disc-based cameras. Cache-A also provides long-term archival storage with easy access at every stage of production.

Both appliances write data to low-cost, secure, portable LTO-4 tape cartridges using the standard TAR format. Operating system-independent, both Prime-Cache and Pro-Cache can be deployed into Windows, Mac OS and Unix environments to provide direct access to archived data from any platform with simultaneous multiuser access and volume sharing. They plug into a standard Ethernet network and provide high-capacity (800GB/LTO-4 cartridge) and high-speed (greater than 50MB/s) archiving.
