Dalet Digital Media Systems and EVS have been shortlisted for the IBC Innovation Awards 2009 in the content management category for their involvement with the Belgium public broadcaster RTBF’s NUMPROD project.
In 2008, RTBF launched the project to migrate its TV broadcast operations to a tapeless workflow, with integrated production and support for multichannel and multiplatform distribution.
The new system is based on a centralized workflow and media management system developed by the IT department of RTBF. Both broadcast technology specialists provided RTBF with a highly flexible and scalable tapeless workflow facilitating the production needs for a wide range of resources across both news and sports production operations.
Winners of the IBC Innovation Awards 2009 will be announced during the IBC Show.

Along with the benefits, come a number of challenges. One of the biggest challenges is a mechanism to recover lost data in real-time. This paper will attempt to shed some light on the inner workings of the real-time data recovery mechanism: Pro-MPEG Code of Practice #3 Forward Error Correction (CoP#3 FEC). Read Now
