Florical demonstrates automated PSIP workflow to improve EPG accuracy at NAB2008

Apr 16, 2008 8:11 AM

Florical Systems has validated a complete PSIP workflow with DTV Innovations, for PSIP generators, and TitanTV, for program management TV listing services. To help broadcasters meet the recent FCC Report and Order on PSIP requirements, Florical’s AirGuide provides, using the ATSC PMCP (Programming Metadata Communication Protocol) standard, to both PSIP Pro and MediaStar the accurate start times and last-minute changes required when airing programs.

This implementation of PMCP has been enhanced through the use stations’ generated house names for programs to provide a strong linkage, ensuring that EPG data generated by PSIP Pro — merging PSIP data from MediaStar and AirGuide — is as accurate as possible.
