ImaginAsian chooses ON-AIR K Series for automated playout

ON-AIR Systems strengthens its position in the US broadcasting industry with an order from multi-media entertainment company, ImaginAsian Entertainment Inc.
ImaginAsian Entertainment (iaTV), the New York-based broadcaster, has chosen ON-AIR systems to playout its satellite and cable network using two ON-AIR playKast master playout systems.
Under a separate services agreement, the playKast systems have been installed in Globecomm Systems' broadcasting center in Long Island, NY, where Globecomm provides 24-hour hosting services for iaTV.
Globecomm also provides iaTV's onward transmission services, including a complete satellite distribution service on the Intelsat Americas 13 satellite platform.
In-house productions are edited in Final Cut Pro. iaTV operators capture the programs, commercials and other events, and prepare the schedules in their Manhattan studios. With the new ON-AIR playKast systems in place, media files are sent via a leased line to Globecomm in Long Island and stored on a network storage system until they are required for playout. Playout lists can be rearranged, and files deleted or added using ON-AIR playKast's drag and drop interface. As changes are made, the system automatically recalculates start and finish times.
iaTV prepares graphics using ON-AIR playKast's graphics generator. This enables them to create unlimited layers of graphic overlays and text-based information all within the playout system, thus avoiding the need for dedicated graphics software.
