South Dakota Public Broadcasting taps SeaChange for SD/HD broadcasting, transition to tapeless

South Dakota Public Broadcasting (SDPB) is using SeaChange broadcast storage systems to deliver SD and HD programming, while establishing a foundation for the statewide network’s future tapeless workflow. SDPB has been broadcasting two SD feeds using a SeaChange Broadcast MediaCluster and recently added a Broadcast MediaLibrary/MediaClient (BML/MCL) play-to-air platform to accommodate its HD signal. The backward-compatible design of the BML/MCL made it easy for SDPB to integrate the new platform with its existing MediaCluster. The entire system is driven in conjunction with a Sundance automation system.
