TF1 to use IMD tapeless commercial delivery

French broadcaster TF1 has closed the last link in the chain for tapeless distribution and delivery of commercials in association with IMD, a specialist of tapeless delivery in the UK. The company operates in several European countries, and IMD now has its own facility in France. From October 2009, TV commercials transmitted on all channels managed by TF1 Publicité (TF1 sales) can be delivered as files, and TF1 Publicité will be able to accept TV commercials as media files from other sources in the future.

France's HD Forum, of which TF1 is a founding member, is working to harmonize file exchange formats for broadcast operations. Commercial delivery takes place within the framework of this work in progress.
