Automation systems provider OASYS was approached to create a unique channel solution for Whatâ€™s-On-India, owned by Indian consumer TV guidance and EPG company Whatâ€™s-On-India Media. The two companies worked closely together to create dynamic information updates and channel-branding using OASYS automated playout, graphics and scheduling software combined with Gen21 scheduling and XML data extracted from Whatâ€™s-On-Indiaâ€™s EPG and recommendation databases.
Whatâ€™s-On-India wanted the TV listings information and viewer recommendations to be updated dynamically and automatically based on the time of day. OASYS created a unique EPG graphic plug-in that is timed to appear with the other channel content, and also designed an additional enhancement to the product that enables operators to receive the national feed while overlaying a different EPG graphic showing only the channels relevant to each operator. The operators can also insert their own local commercial content and add their own branding.
