AT&T U-Verse to offer VOD content from ViewNow

AT&T U-Verse TV will begin offering an array of video-on-demand programming under a distribution agreement the telecommunications company has signed with IPTV content aggregator ViewNow.

The companies last week announced a distribution agreement to give AT&T U-verse TV customers access to ViewNow on-demand programming, including content from major motion picture studios and Subscription on Demand and Free on Demand programming.

AT&T U-verse TV is delivered by Project Lightspeed, the company’s initiative to expand the fiber-optics network into neighborhoods.

ViewNow is an IPTV and VOD content aggregator with distribution rights from major motion picture studios as well as many independent studios. The company licenses content in the MPEG-2, MPEG-4 (H.264) and VC1 formats.
