Jonathan Chalon joined Broadcast Engineering in January 2006. Previously he served as associate publisher of Vlife, a consumer magazine from the Variety group at Reed Business in New York. Prior to that he was publisher of the music magazine Spin. He helped launch The Industry Standard as associate publisher, where he led his team to sell the most pages in publishing history. He also served as international advertising director for Inc magazine. Chalon started his career with McGraw Hill in 1983.

He is a 1982 college graduate of Ithaca College with a bachelor of science in business management.
