ABC News is re-launching ABC News Now. The multimedia news initiative includes the 24-hour news channel ABC News Now and video on demand from ABC News broadcasts.

The digital news offering will combine international, national and local reports for distribution via multiple media platforms, including cable, satellite, broadband and wireless. An initial test of ABC News Now, which included distribution of the service via ABC affiliate DTV multicast channels originally ran from July 26, 2004, through Jan. 29.

For the re-launch, 10 ABC-owned stations are committed to providing local news content and resources to the service. ABC News will encode and bundle on-demand content from the stations and offer the reports via its service.

ABC News Now will re-emerge in July.
