Camplex rolls out PRO-XHD camera control system

Using a single Cat 5 cable, the PRO-XHD's dockable camera adapter conveys the camcorder's HD analog component video to the production control center.

Camplex has introduced the new PRO-XHD camera control system designed specifically for mini-DV HD camcorders from Canon, JVC, Panasonic and Sony with power requirements ranging from 7.2vdc to 8.4vdc.

The new system converts the camcorder into a live HD camera capable of shooting live multi-camera productions in the studio or in the field.

Using a single Cat 5 cable, the PRO-XHD's dockable camera adapter conveys the camcorder's HD analog component video to the production control center, along with SD composite video, operator intercom and camera program audio.

Delivery of the SD video signal allows use of a conventional SD composite video monitor for preview. Over the same Cat 5 cable, the PRO-XHD control unit simultaneously sends operating power to the remote camcorder, along with intercom and camera tally signal.
