ABC completed the inaugural broadcast of its first mobile truck, an HD mobile unit used May 26 as the remote broadcast center for “Good Morning America.”
Outfitted with FOR-A’s HANABI HVS-1000HS multiformat, one mix/effect digital switcher, the unit is being deployed for the program’s remote coverage, including its summer concert series running through the end of August.
The HANABI HVS-1000HS is a one M/E switcher that supports 1080i, 24p, 720p and standard definition formats. It is a one mix/effect version of the two M/E Hanabi HVS-3000H/S digital HD or SD switcher.
The compact HVS-1000HS switcher is 2RU high. One DVE card comes pre-installed, and an optional DVE card can be added for increased flexibility. With the SD switcher, adding the optional card increases capacity to two channels of DVE from each card. With the HD switchers, an optional DVE card provides one DVE channel.
