BBC News adds Carbon Coder to tapeless production workflow

BBC News has chosen Rhozet’s Carbon Coder video transcoding technology to extend its tapeless news production system.
Two hundred journalists use the system daily to transcode media generated by BBC News. Carbon Coder relieves a major production bottleneck with its ability to transcode video content quickly for Web, mobile and cable channel broadcasts and to facilitate cross-platform, cross-format, video and audio file distribution among BBC News content creators.
Content comes from a variety of sources, including video generated at BBC News, incoming video files from Reuters and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and eyewitness video recorded by the public on mobile phones and other consumer devices.
