Chroszeil offers new MatteBox, supports for latest HDV cameras

Chrosziel has developed a support kit and 16x9 MatteBox for the Canon XHG1 camcorder (shown) and the Sony HVR-V1 and JVC GY-HD250 camcorders.
Last year, Chrosziel redesigned and released its lightweight support system and adaptor rings for DV and HDV cameras.
Based on that work, the company was able to move quickly to develop and release MatteBox, SunShade and FollowFocus accessories for the recently released Sony HVR-V1, Canon XHG1 and JVC GY-HD250 camcorders.
In keeping with Chrosziel's design philosophy of cutting off light as closely as possible around the picture without causing vignetting, the company adapted its MatteBox individually for each of the new cameras and their lenses.
The newly designed adaptor rings also play a pivotal role. Not only do they protect against spill light, they also fix the proper alignment of MatteBox or SunShade. The vertical and horizontal adaptation of the support rod system aligns the MatteBox with the optical axis of the lens, thus keeping unwanted stress from the lens.
