Chyron integrates CAMIO news graphics with OCTOPUS Newsroom System
Jul 9, 2007 8:00 AM
Chyron has entered into a technology partnership with OCTOPUS Newsroom System, based in the UK. This alliance will facilitate the integration of Chyron’s CAMIO news graphics management solution into the OCTOPUS Newsroom System to allow journalists to have control over the look and delivery of newsroom graphics. The combination has been successfully tested and is now ready for prime time.
The CAMIO graphic management architecture enables graphics personnel to build and upload assets once and make them immediately available to all output devices as well as newsroom clients. LUCI, CAMIO’s Newsroom Client ActiveX, enables journalists to remotely browse templates, edit text and replaceable images and movie files, preview their graphics and insert them into stories directly from within the OCTOPUS interface.
CAMIO manages the distribution of assets. Using Chyron’s Lyric playlist control, or iSQ (the company’s Intelligent Sequencer software), playout is streamlined. The order of graphics for playout is always synchronized with the OCTOPUS Newsroom computer system running order as it changes with floats and edits.
