Garrenton takes new group engineering position at LIN TV

LIN TV has promoted Les Garrenton to director of engineering/broadcast systems.
Garrenton will be responsible for evaluating new broadcast technologies and applications for LIN TV’s 29 TV stations, overseeing broadcast studio systems integration and implementation, researching technology that will improve station efficiency and productivity and sharing in the oversight of LIN stations’ day-to-day engineering operations. He will report directly to John Viall, LIN TV’s VP of TV engineering and operations.
Garrenton previously was the director of engineering for WAVY-TV and WVBT-TV in Norfolk, VA. He will be based at WAVY-TV and WVBT-TV.
