Shotoku supplied a TK-59VR jib paired with a TU-03AVR pan/tilt head to enable wide camera coverage without the use of a dolly.
Shotoku Broadcast Systems, a supplier of manual and robotically controlled camera support products, has delivered several tripod and tripod/dolly systems to support RCN-TV’s new Vizrt virtual set solution. RCN-TV, one of Colombia’s two privately licensed television networks, went on-air with the equipment during the third quarter of 2008. The network reaches 97 percent of Colombian viewers across 132 stations.
Working with Closed Caption Latina, a local systems integrator and distributor in the Colombian market, Shotoku designed a camera support configuration that integrates seamlessly with the Vizrt Viz|Virtual Studio at RCN-TV to achieve optimum performance in a virtual environment.
Shotoku supplied a TK-59VR jib paired with a TU-03AVR pan/tilt head to enable wide camera coverage without the use of a dolly. The TU-03VR head sends exact camera position signals to the computer in real time via built-in high-precision encoders for fail-proof positioning.
RCN-TV also installed several of Shotoku’s single and double stage tripods, and studio dollys with SH-90 pan/tilt high performance heads. Designed for portable broadcast cameras, the heads provide the smooth, high-quality movement needed for calm, clear camera work.
