BBC Technology Group selects Infinity for tapeless HD acquisition trial

Starwinder, BBC Technology Group’s project to move to tapeless HD production by 2010, is using the Grass Valley Infinity Digital Media Camcorder and related products from the company.

During the initial phase of the Starwinder project, tapeless acquisition systems from Grass Valley and the Panasonic P2-based DVCPRO HD will undergo intensive trials for one year.

For such a large organization, a smooth transition to new technology is vitally important.

Thomson announced that the Grass Valley Infinity Digital Media Camcorder would be part of the trial earlier in June. Word of Panasonic’s involvement came in May.
