The Tektronix WFM7120 waveform monitor is one of several of the company’s test and measurement products China Netcom will use to maintain optimum video quality during the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

China Netcom (CNC) will implement a video test infrastructure based on Tektronix video test and monitoring equipment to assist in maintaining the highest video quality for broadcast of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

China Netcom will rely on Tektronix PQA500 picture quality analyzers, WFM7120 waveform monitors, MTM400 MPEG transport stream monitors and the MTS430 MPEG test system.

China Netcom is responsible for the video signal transmission to the International Broadcast Center (IBC) from all the Olympic competition venues in seven cities. These video signals will then be distributed to Rights Holding Broadcast Organizations (RHB) for production and transmission to different countries and regions.
