Cox Television settles on multistation branding approach

Cox Television in Atlanta will use an HD graphics delivery platform from Harris with additional components from ADC and Business Technology for a national, multistation branding initiative.

Cox Television, which owns or controls TV stations in 11 markets, will rely on several different technologies, including the:

  • Harris IconStation SD/HD on-air branding system, included in the H-Class application platform;
  • Business Technology (BTi) Attendant Solutions software products;
  • ADC Playout Automation application, which will collect information used.

IconStation combines logo insertion with multiple, real-time data crawls and a squeezeback DVE for channel-branding applications. It is designed to simplify the creation, display and maintenance of a consistent brand.

The ADC Playout Automation application automates the dubbing, management and playout of program material from video disks and VTRs and supports a range of GPI-controlled devices.
