Fujitsu will showcase its newly announced IP-9500 4.0 MPEG-4 AVC encoder for real-time broadcast-quality contribution content at the NAB Show.

The Fujitsu IP-9500 4.0 enables the simultaneous transmission of HD signals using 4:2:0 and 4:2:2 chroma subsampling, allowing broadcasters to efficiently use either format based on their existing infrastructures. The IP-9500 4.0 also integrates a process for maintaining non-degraded 4:2:0 chroma resolution to preserve picture quality throughout the entire communications link.

The IP-9500’s high level of picture quality at low bit rates and low latency enables HD satellite newsgathering and live event transmission using existing broadcast satellite infrastructure.

The encoder features DVB-S and DVB-S2 modulation, which eliminates the need for separate modulators when broadcasting via satellite.
