Glendale 11 goes HD for local news, sports

Glendale 11, the city-owned local cable TV station in Glendale, AZ, will use a full complement of Thomson Grass Valley HD video production equipment to produce local news, sports and information for residents.

Acquisition of the multiformat HD equipment represents a substantial commitment for the local cable production department. The purchase includes five new Grass Valley LDK 8000 HD cameras, a Kayak HD production switcher and Concerto HD routing system. The equipment will be installed in a new HD control room and production studio.

The City of Glendale operates and programs Glendale 11 24/7. The channel is seen by local subscribers to Cox Cable and Qwest Cable.

With a production staff that includes broadcast veterans and video production experts with decades of broadcast experience, Glendale 11 has claimed a number of national TV awards, including several Telly Awards, in recognition of its broadcast achievements.
