Harris to unveil two new broadcast transport solutions

Harris will introduce the CTT6800+, a JPEG2000 compressed transport transceiver, and the OP+HMT, a fiber-optic transport module, at NAB2008.

Leveraging the 6800+ core processing platform, the CTT6800+ and the OP+HMT address the evolving needs of broadcast distribution businesses.

The CTT6800+, a module designed for the 6800+ platform, is a compressed transport transceiver that uses mezzanine-level JPEG2000 compression to transport baseband media signals over an ASI link carrying an MPEG-2 transport stream. When coupled with the IPA6800+ module, the CTT6800+ allows efficient transport of HD signals over IP networks.

The OP+HMT module provides eight SDI or four HD-SDI channel multiplexing and demultiplexing using a Time-Division Multiplexing (TDM) approach, which shares a single optical link among multiple electrical signals. Fiber-optic outputs are available in 1310nm FP and 16 CWDM wavelengths.
