Inmarsat announces new launch date for satellite

Inmarsat has chosen a new date for the launch its third Inmarsat-4 satellite aboard a Proton-M rocket from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, the company said July 1.

If successful, the Aug. 14 launch will complete the global constellation of Inmarsat-4 spacecraft providing mobile satellite services worldwide.

The Inmarsat-4 F3 satellite, built by EADS Astrium, will be lofted into space on a rocket operated by International Launch Services (ILS).
