Two Fisher Communications stations in the northwest are transitioning to tapeless news acquisition with DVCPRO P2 solid-state memory products from Panasonic Broadcast.
KATU-TV, the ABC affiliate in Portland, OR, and CBS affiliate KVAL-TV in Eugene, OR, are taking delivery of 29 fully equipped AJ-SPX800 P2 cameras, 29 AJ-PCS060 P2 Store drives, seven AJ-SDP850 decks with built-in DVD recorders, 17 AJ-PCD10 drives and a large number of 4GB P2 cards.
The deal, valued at $850,000, will allow the stations to replace aging analog ENG equipment and move closer to an IT-based news workflow.
Panasonic’s DVCPRO P2 series products are compatible with DVCPRO and provide a seamless migration path to DVCPRO HD.
