KTOP originates programming, community productions with JVC HD cameras

KTOP’s JVC GY-HD250 ProHD cameras do dual duty as the government access channel’s primary studio cameras and field cameras.
KTOP, in Oakland, CA, is using JVC GY-HD250 ProHD cameras equipped with JVC KA-HD250 studio adaptors as its primary studio cameras.
A government access channel, KTOP also uses the GY-HD250 cameras remotely for community and government events.
KTOP produces several in-studio productions with the cameras, including “National Gallery,” a question-and-answer format program featuring local artists, and “Imagine Peace,” a campaign to suppress violence within Oakland’s neighborhoods.
When producing programs in the field, KTOP does a switch feed with the GY-HD250 cameras and records to SD, with plans to convert to HD in the future. KTOP’s remote setup includes two JVC decks (primary and backup) for the switched feed.
In addition to broadcasting original programming with the GY-HD250s, KTOP also provides coverage of the city council, council committee and other city agency meetings.
