Dalet NewsPro application

The Dalet NewsPro application allows users to browse available video feeds, script rundowns and make shot selections.

Al-Watan Television has chosen a Dalet News Suite as its tapeless newsroom and production system. The station launched two channels — Al Watan and Al Watan Plus — in September as the first file-based HD channels in the region.

The Dalet News Suite enables the news production staff to seamlessly move content between a series of Apple Final Cut Pro edit suites and its Omneon playout servers.

Twenty Dalet workstations will be deployed at Al-Watan TV, where they will provide a fully integrated newsroom and tapeless news production system. From their Dalet News Suite workstations, journalists and producers will consult incoming agency wire stories, browse available video feeds, script rundowns and make shot selections. HD packages will be put together using a combination of Dalet and Apple Final Cut Pro editing tools. Gallery automation will be done using the Dalet News Suite’s native integration with Omneon playout servers and a Dalet MOS gateway to a WASP3D template-based, real-time CG engine.
