KVOA-TV, WLEX-TV to use Synergy 4 MD-X switchers for local HD newscast

Cordillera Communications-owned KVOA-TV in Tucson, AZ, and WLEX-TV in Lexington, KY, have acquired Ross Video Synergy 4 Multidefinition (MD-X) production switchers to produce local news programming in HD.

Extensive HD equipment and system integration is well underway, in preparation for a spring launch date.

The Synergy 4 MD-X switchers combine a four-effects bank control panel with the MD-X live production engine to provide four full M/Es with up to four downstream keyers. Each M/E is equipped with four channels of Squeeze & Tease 3-D DVEs, two standard UltraChrome chroma keyers and four channels of MLE-Store with MediaCache moving image playback. The Synergy 4 MD-X supports HD, SD or any combination of the two formats.
