The nation’s largest youth-focused anti-tobacco education campaign, Truth, recently produced five anti-tobacco ads relying on a combination of HD technology from All Mobile Video and Nucomm.
Production of the spots, designed to engage teens by exposing tobacco companies’ marketing and manufacturing practices and to illustrate the consequences of tobacco use, required five Nucomm CamPac 2 HD/SD COFDM camera-back transmitters and five Nucomm Newscaster DR HD/SD COFDM microwave receivers.
With a different commercial shot each day during one week at various outdoor Manhattan locations, the production posed many challenges, all of which were overcome by applying Nucomm’s technology.
Each location required multichannel wireless transmission in Manhattan, which is the largest broadcast market in the country with a high-degree of frequency congestion, noted Tom D’ Angelo, director of All Mobile Video’s rental division.
Nucomm’s CamPac 2s and Newscaster diversity receivers let All Mobile Video establish links to overcome the congestion, he added.
