The Vitec Group has acquired LED lighting system maker Litepanels.

The Vitec Group has acquired LED lighting system maker Litepanels.

Litepanels has signed an agreement to be acquired by the Vitec Group, the company said Aug. 25.

Litepanels manufacturers LED lighting systems for the television, video and film industries. Its lighting products are a complementary addition to the Vitec Group Broadcast Systems Division, which includes brands such as Sachtler, Vinten, Autoscript and Anton/Bauer.

Litepanels has developed a range of LED on-camera and stand-mounted lighting systems. Its products are used both on-location and in studio environments.

Based in North Hollywood, CA, Litepanels was founded in 2005 by five partners, who will remain with the company and continue operational responsibilities.
