Voice of India, a bouquet of Indian channels broadcasting in English and Hindi, has chosen the OCTOPUS newsroom system as an integral part of its news automation workflow as it advances on its goal of offering 19 channels in the next 30 months.

Owned by Triveni Media, Voice of India has a pan-Indian presence with bureaus in multiple locations, making it necessary for its newsroom system to be capable of accessing the bureaus over a WAN link for building stories and rundowns.

According to Nimish Kapoor, general manager of IT for VOI TV, the OCTOPUS newsroom system provides access to news wires, low-res video and multichannel sharing of completed news stories and rundowns.
