Haivision to Participate in IBC2012 Panel Discussion on Live Streaming of London Games

Panel of Experts From Haivision, iStreamPlanet, and Interxion to Discuss How Integrated Video Workflow Solutions Can Help Broadcasters Stream Live Events to Multiple Devices

MONTREAL and CHICAGO -- Aug. 23, 2012 -- Haivision, a global leader in advanced video networking and IP video distribution solutions, announced today its participation in a panel entitled "Live Streaming of the 2012 Olympic Games to Connected Devices: Enabling Olympic Rights Holder Broadcasters to Expand their Digital Footprint" as part of Sports Day at IBC2012. The panel discussion will include several industry leaders, and is scheduled for Sept. 8 from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m.

The session will focus on best practices for delivering live streaming of global sporting events to multiple devices and discuss the Go-Live Package -- a turnkey, end-to-end live streaming and cross-platform video playback solution developed by Haivision and iStreamPlanet for London Games rights-holding broadcasters (RHB). Along with Interxion, Europe's largest data center provider, panelists will share their expertise on how broadcasters can expand their digital footprint through cost-effective, secure, region-specific live streaming solutions that provide seamless device playback experiences to viewers.

"As today's viewership continues to expand beyond the television set to any IP-connected device, people want to tune in wherever they are to watch events live and on demand, or simply catch the latest highlights in real time," said Peter Maag, CMO at Haivision. "With this growing trend in mind, broadcasters are aggressively seeking solution providers that bring together the latest technology, techniques, and relationships to yield the best available viewing experiences for their audiences."

The event will be jointly hosted by Mio Babic, president and CEO at iStreamPlanet; Jonathan Wood, director of digital media and business development at Interxion; and Peter Maag, chief marketing officer at Haivision. The panel will be moderated by Eric Schumacher-Rasmussen, editor of Streaming Media magazine.
