CalDigit is launching the HDElement, a compact four–bay storage solution, at NAB2008.

Working in conjunction with the CalDigit RAID card, the HDElement is a 100 percent hardware RAID-based product. The HDElement supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6 and JBOD storage. CalDigit designed the HDElement for those needing a four-bay RAID capable of the high bandwidth requirements of editing uncompressed HD.

Up to three HDElements can be connected to a CalDigit RAID card. The HDElement is also bootable.
