At IBC2008, Gefen will demonstrate two new HDMI v1.3 extension systems, each designed to deliver a high-quality signal in different ways.

The GefenTV HDMI v1.3 Repeater is a small device that sits between two HDMI cables allowing the signal to be transferred beyond its 6.6ft specified limit. High-quality visuals with all of the new HDMI v1.3 features, including deep color with DTS Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD audio formats, are delivered without delay. The extender is recommended for shorter-length installations.

The Gefen HDMI v1.3 Cat 5 Extender is a sender/receiver system that uses Cat 5 cabling to extend HDMI v1.3 audio and video up to 50m. At this distance, 1080p HD is delivered with zero signal loss; resolutions up to 1080i can be extended farther.
