Belgium’s RTL-TVI uses Deltacast sports graphics for soccer coverage
RTL-TVI in Belgium will use the DELTA-sport and DELTA-stat systems to broadcast a soccer match between Belgium and Armenia. DELTA-sport is also deployed for several European championships, including England, Scotland, Italy, Belgium and Portugal.
DELTA-sport is a sensor-free image processing system that allows full autonomous capture and replay (no slow-mo system needed), performing keying in HD. DELTA-sport HD for virtual graphics doesn’t require up/downconversions and is HD/SD switchable.
DELTA-stat is a customizable live sports branding application. The system consists of a PC, a DELTACAST board and a custom graphical user interface to automate the appearance of timers, stats and animations. DELTA-stat HD manages all the graphics to overlay during the game and is HD/SD switchable.

Dome Productions covers Canadian Football League in HD with Thomson
Dome Productions, a mobile production company based in Toronto, is covering the current 2008 Canadian Football League (CFL) season in HD with a fleet of trucks equipped with Thomson Grass Valley HD cameras, production switchers and routers.
Dome’s five HD mobile units all feature Thomson Grass Valley Kalypso HD production switchers, with some equipped with 10 LDK HD cameras, as well as either Trinix HD or Concerto Series HD routers.
The 2008 regular season opened on June 26 and concludes with the final double header on Nov. 1. The CFL season ends with the 96th Grey Cup on Sunday, Nov. 23, in Montreal.

Gearhouse Broadcast supplies African football flyaway kits for SuperSport
Pan-African sports channel SuperSport has contracted Gearhouse Broadcast to build three flyaway systems to cover domestic football leagues in a number of African countries to be carried on Africa’s pay-TV platform DStv. DStv is a pay television offering from MultiChoice, which has more than 2 million subscribers in sub-Saharan Africa.
The flyaway units contain an eight-camera system made up of Sony BVP E30 cameras, a Sony DVS 9000 vision mixer, Teletest rack-mount monitors, Harris Inscriber G1 graphics, two by six-channel SD EVS XT[2], Pro-Bel router, RTS/Telex communications system, Yamaha mixing desk and Glensound commentary units as well as a mixture of new and used Canon lenses.
