Genesis Networks delivers baseball games from Tokyo Dome
When the Boston Red Sox and the Oakland A's kicked off the 2008 MLB season in the Tokyo Dome, fans in the New England area enjoyed the action in HD via advanced fiber-optic infrastructure provided by Genesis Networks. The same fiber network delivered the games online to viewers worldwide via MLB.com, the official Web site of the MLB.
Genesis Networks provided more than 32 hours of networking services to MLB Advanced Media headquarters in New York City, delivering news feeds as well as complete live coverage of the season openers and exhibition games to the MLB.com site.

NBC to route Olympics signals with QuStreamQuStream will provide the central routing system to NBC for the network's coverage of the 2008 Olympic Games.
The network chose the QuStream Cheetah 864XR series, which provides for up to 864 HD inputs and outputs in a single chassis. Occupying 41RU of space, the QuStream Cheetah router is serving as the backbone of a complete system being installed in the International Broadcast Center for NBC. The router is equipped with both fiber-optic and coax I/O cards and includes an interface allowing it to be controlled by Sony’s S-BUS remote router controller.
Configured in groups of 16 inputs and outputs, the Cheetah 864XR offers high density and accommodates both coax and fiber connectivity directly in and out of the frame, with no external conversion gear. The fiber I/O includes both single- and multimode as well as CWDM technology, allowing for 16 uncompressed HD channels on a single fiber. All major modules are hot-swappable and feature real-time SNMP-based monitoring and internal frame health diagnostics standard.

Florida regional sports broadcaster selects Chyron
Catch 47, a regional 24/7 sports broadcaster owned by Bright House Cable Network, has installed a Chyron Channel Box HD/SD-switchable channel-branding and automated promo system.
The Channel Box system, installed at Catch 47’s Tampa, FL, facility, will be used to provide tickers, crawls, snipes, promos and credits. The network broadcasts a variety of programs as well as local high school games spotlighting teams in the area. It also televises the University of South Florida’s athletics and baseball games in the Florida State League.
Channel Box provides broadcast facilities with a complete branding package and an upgradeable path to HD.
