Norwegian production company transitions to tapeless production with EVS

Norwegian production company Fabelaktiv has acquired EVS technology as part of its move to a fully tapeless production setup.

The system consists of an EVS HD-ready six-channel XT[2] production and playout server, IPDirector production suite and XStore[2] media storage unit. At the time of the acquisition, Fabelaktiv was already using Avid technology for craft editing, so using EVS technology for its move to a tapeless environment made sense, especially in light of the recent announcement of EVS native support for Avid's DNxHD codec. The new EVS equipment and software will be easily integrated with Fabelaktiv's existing Avid Interplay system.
