Overon deploys TANDBERG MPEG-4 AVC encoder for National Geographic HD

Spanish-based broadcast solutions provider Overon is using a TANDBERG Television MPEG-4 AVC HD encoding system for the delivery of National Geographic Channel HD to broadcasters and TV service providers across Europe.
National Geographic Channel HD programming will be distributed to broadcast headends across Europe via satellite using the TANDBERG Television EN8090 encoder, which enables a substantial reduction in the bandwidth required for distributing HDTV services.
The EN8090 is a next-generation MPEG-4 AVC HD encoder and uses TANDBERG Television’s Intelligent Compression Engine technology featuring Clarus video preprocessing, with enhanced noise reduction, artifact removal and improved filtering.
