The new feature allows signals to travel farther over fiber to and from the switcher.
Attempting to solve the distance limitations associated with HD-SDI signals over coax cabling, Ross Video now offer s a fiber I/O option for its Vision QMD/X production switcher. The production switcher’s inputs and outputs can now be individually configured as coaxial HD-SDI or fiber-optic connections. The new feature supports multiple formats and can be used to produce projects in all of the most common SD and HD resolutions.
The new fiber I/O feature is available on the 3RU Vision QMD 4M/E chassis and the Vision QMD-X 4 ME chassis, offering up to 96 inputs and 48 outputs.
