ESPN uses more gear to cover last game at Yankee Stadium
With the help of veteran mobile production company New Century Productions, ESPN used more technology than usual to cover the last game at Yankee Stadium, expanding the audio and camera coverage of the game to allow fans at home a chance to get close to the action and emotion.
There were more microphones, two robotic cameras in the ESPN announce booth and 24 cameras (instead of the usual 16-18) for the “Sunday Night Baseball” game.
Rock Paper Scissors championship on FOX Sports Net
The USARPS League (for Rock Paper Scissors professionals) held its third annual League Championship Tournament June 20-22, and it will be televised Oct. 6 as a special on FOX Sports Net’s “Best Damn Sports Show Period.”
More than 300 Rock Paper Scissors athletes representing all corners of America descended on Las Vegas the weekend of the tournament in the hopes of “roshamboing” their way to the $50,000 dollar grand prize. For the third consecutive year, the tournament was hosted at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino.
This year’s winner was flown to Beijing this summer to represent the United States in an international competition at Club Bud during the Olympic Games. The American champ faced off against athletes from five of the top RPS-playing regions in the world (Ireland, Canada, Hong Kong and Guam) in the International Rock Paper Scissors Federation (IRPSF) Championship. The league was founded in 2005 by Matti Leshem and Andrew Golder to bring rules and structure to the sport in the United States.

Vinten robotics technology increases productivity at now TV
One of the world’s largest commercial deployments of IPTV technology, now TV has chosen Vinten Radamec’s latest robotics technology for its sports studio as part of the company’s ongoing technology enhancement strategy.
The new now TV studio has been equipped with two Vinten Radamec Fusion FP-145 Robotic Pedestals and eight Fusion FH-100 Robotic and Manual Heads, operated via a pair of the latest Vinten Radamec Control Systems (VRC).
The now TV services features 160 channels of local, Asian and international programming and serves more than 882,000 subscribers.
