Amsterdam-based post house Studio Alfred Klaassen, which specializes in 5.1 surround sound for television, cinema and advertising agencies, has upgraded its four Fairlight QDC systems to the new Crystal Core (CC-1) engine.

Studio Alfred Klaassen also recently upgraded its Studio 2 to incorporate a Fairlight Constellation console. The other three studios are all equipped with Fairlight Satellite systems. Each has PyxisTrack video and runs from an Ardis Technology DDP server capable of streaming both audio and video. The setup gives the facility full sound and picture integration and makes it easy to switch projects from one room to another.

The decision to upgrade to the CC-1 platform has enhanced the studio’s integration by making it possible to work with any audio or video file format. Incorporated into Fairlight’s key products such as Constellation, Xynergi and Anthem, the CC-1 engine offers improvements in speed, workflow and reliability.
